President’s Message

Hello, my GFWC-Jacksonville Beaches Woman’s Club Sisters.

This is an exciting year for us, celebrating 100 years as a woman’s club here at the Beaches. I am honored to serve as your president this year and look forward to all the exciting plans our chairmen have planned for Community Service Projects this year.

As you all know Sea Turtles are near and dear to me. I spend a good amount of time during turtle season watching for the mamas to come on shore to lay the eggs, monitoring the nests and then guiding the babies back to the sea. It is my passion, and I’ve made it my symbol for the year. You will be “seaing” a lot of different pictures of turtles.

JBWC has also become a passion for me. The guidelines for the club: to care about others, concern for the community, friendship among members, to engage in philanthropic and educational endeavors and participate in Federation activities are all objections I can stand behind. Let’s have a great club year supporting all these ideas and have a lot of fun doing it!

Your friend and sister,

Joanne Mattingly, President
